Borussia Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre is confident Jadon Sancho will regain his best performance after scoring in a win over Club Brugge.
Sancho became the first England-born player to score through a free kick in the Champions League (UCL) while playing for a club outside England since David Beckham for Real Madrid in 2005.
The striker failed to meet the same standards as last season, where he scored 20 goals in 19 assists in 44 games.
Sancho’s goal over Brugge is the third of the season, after creating four assists, in 10 games.
Favre is happy to see the 20-year-old – who has been linked with Manchester United before – return to scoring and believes he will get his best touch again.
“Of course, I am very happy because he scored again. A very beautiful goal through a free kick. We have some players who can do it. He did it very well,” he said.
“His goal relieved us. The advantage of two goals after the match continued in the second half was very important.
“Overall, he played well, a lot of running. But I repeat, that’s normal, players are not always in the best condition. Sometimes like this, then like that.”
