LONDON: Liverpool are expected to be strengthened again by Diogo Jota who started training yesterday in preparation for Chelsea in the English Premier League (EPL) action early tomorrow morning Malaysia time.
The striker, who had to rest since December due to a knee injury, was listed for the Sheffield United match on Saturday, but was sent home before the match due to ill health.
Jota is joined by Fabinho, Ben Davies and Alisson Becker, who returned to Kirkby after the death of his father in Brazil last week.
James Milner and Naby Keita also took part in the training session after being included as substitutes in the win at Sheffield United.
“Alisson and Fabinho, I’m sure they will play. With Diogo, he was with us yesterday but was sick and had to be sent home.
“So it depends on how fast he recovers. He is not in the squad, but he has coached the team before and looks good.
“I want Diogo to be ready for Thursday (early Friday morning in Malaysia), but for now I’m not sure,” said team manager Jurgen Klopp.
Jordan Henderson has yet to recover from a hamstring injury while Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip remain on the long-term injury list.
