LONDON: Liverpool are still waiting to see if strikers Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota will recover from injuries for Sunday’s League Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley, manager Juergen Klopp said.

Firmino and Jota each suffered muscle and ankle injuries in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League last week.

The pair also did not play in the 3-1 Premier League win at home to Norwich City last weekend.

“True, it’s still too early,” Klopp said on the club’s website when asked about his player’s condition.

“I also don’t know if it’s going to be a late decision or not … I met both of them today, they look great-but both have always been that way.

“We need to see how specific the issue is but obviously we will try to do whatever it takes.”

Liverpool will await the arrival of Leeds United in the league early this Thursday morning before the visit to London.
