LONDON: West Bromwich Albion will host Manchester City at the Hawthorns in the English Premier League (EPL) action early Wednesday morning.
In the last action of the previous league, West Brom lost 2-1 at the hands of West Ham led by David Moyes at the London Stadium.
Goals from Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio ensured victory for The Hammers. Midfielder Matheus Pereira scored West Brom’s lone goal.
City travel to the Hawthorns with a fourth-round FA Cup win over Cheltenham.
Second-half goals from Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres ensured victory for City, while Cheltenham’s lone goal was scored by Alfie May.
In the previous 21 meetings between City and West Brom, the Etihad club recorded 17 victories, lost twice and drew twice.
The last time the two clubs clashed was last year in the EPL competition with the match ending 1-1.
German Ilkay put Pep Guardiola’s City ahead in the first half, but center-back Ruben Dias’ own goal allowed West Brom to share the points.
West Brom are expected to drop without Grady Diangana, Karlan Grant and Matt Phillips. Conor Townsend also doubted his fitness for this match.
City, meanwhile, lost Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne, striker Sergio Aguero and defender Nathan Ake. Left-back Kyle Walker has also not been confirmed.
