LONDON: Jose Mourinho criticized referee Andre Marriner’s performance after Tottenham lost for the third time in a row, including at the hands of old club Chelsea earlier this morning.
Jorginho’s first-half penalty was enough for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea victory, while Mourinho lost for the second time in a row at home during his tenure as manager.
Eric Dier triggered the penalty despite a slight touch on Timo Werner.
The Spurs manager slammed Marriner by saying: “I consider him one of the best referees in the English Premier League.
“I care and admire it. It puts me in the best position to tell you that I do not like his performance.
“The difficulty is in the penalty, and in the end the penalty determines the match.
“They scored a non-penalty goal that you say is a dangerous situation, one-on-one and goal-scoring.
“The penalty is hard to accept and losing in such a match is quite painful.”
