LONDON: Mauricio Pochettino is confident Kylian Mbappe will remain with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the next ‘few years’.
Pochettino, 48, returned to manager earlier this month when he joined the French giants and won four of his first five matches.
Although Mbappe’s contract is uncertain as well as reports that PSG will sell him to Real Madrid or Liverpool, Pochettino is confident of retaining his star.
He said: “There are a lot of rumors, but I think he will be at PSG for the next few years, and that is the club’s hope.
“We depended on him as long as we were here. It was true he had to make a decision (about his future), but he seemed happy and very committed to this project.”
Commenting on Mbappe’s quality, Pochettino said: “Who doesn’t like Kylian? We talk to each other.
“He made himself loved, with his smile, face and energy. At the age of 19, he was the world champion (with France), amazing things happened to him. In fact he was special and different.”
