MILAN: Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to save 10 points for Juventus, who played in a 2-2 draw in Roma as Napoli thrashed Genoa 6-0 in Serie A earlier this morning.
Defending champions Juventus trailed 2-1 and lacked one player after an hour at the Stadio Olimpico after two goals from Jordan Veretout for hosts besides Adrien Rabiot being sent off.
But Ronaldo’s header equalized in the 69th minute to avoid a first defeat for Juventus’ new coach Andrea Pirlo.
“Being late made things difficult but we managed to get important points,” Ronaldo said.
“We are at the start of the season, with a new coach. But the team is working well. I am confident in our future.
“Pirlo? It’s still early, but we work well together and that’s important.”
