LONDON: Mohamed Salah’s future with Liverpool continues to be in question after the player admitted he was interested in moving to Spain.
Previously, the Egyptian striker had surprised the Reds when he admitted he was open to joining La Liga giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 28-year-old became a star at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp when he scored 119 goals in 192 games to lead his side to the Champions League and English Premier League (EPL).
His contract with the team will expire in 2023 and through an interview with Marca, Salah admitted that there is a possibility of leaving Anfield for Spain in the future.
When asked if he wanted to experience football in Spain, Salah, who is currently on international duty with Egypt, said ‘I want to continue playing for the long term.’
“Why not? No one knows what will happen in the future, so..maybe one day, yes. But it doesn’t depend on me alone.
“We’ll see what happens but I don’t want to discuss it for now.”
