LONDON: Teddy Sheringham believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked if Manchester United fail to win the trophy this season.
Solskjaer has his full support this summer as the club have spent a lot of money on Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane and he is under serious pressure to win the title.
United are battling for three titles in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League after being eliminated in the League Cup at the hands of West Ham last week.
They have also lost three of their last four games after falling 1-0 at home to Aston Villa which clearly added to the pressure on their manager.
“They got big names like Varane and Sancho. That should have been enough but Ronaldo came, United managed to get him and now they want good results.
“Ole is a young manager and he seeks experience while on the job. At the highest level, he just knows United and it’s hard to leave the job. I think he’s improved but he needs to take it to another level above.
“I think everyone wants him to do well, they want him to do well because he’s a Manchester United legend.
“That gives him a challenge but you have to realize, he has to win something.”
