LONDON: Son Heung Min celebrated his 200th appearance in the English Premier League (EPL) by scoring the lone goal of the win over Watford to help Tottenham continue their 100 per cent clean sheet record at the start of the season.
The result saw Spurs take the lead before the international break while Watford are in 12th place.
It also saw Nuno Espirito Santo emerge the second Spurs manager to win all three of the first three games with the team with the record previously held by Arthur Rowe in 1949.
However, they were forced to work hard against Watford who were unlucky when they were booed continuously by a deflected free kick taken by Son.
Harry Kane did not stand out in the action, but Spurs got some chances through Steven Bergwijn, Eric Dier and Dele Alli.
Juraj Kucka failed to perfect two of his best chances to score for Watford while Emmanuel Dennis also came close to worrying the hosts.
Meanwhile, Patrick Bamford blasted home an equalizer late in the game for Leeds which saw Burnley continue to languish in victory in 12 games at home when tied 1-1 at Turf Moor.
Chris Wood gave Burnley the lead when he completed a Matthew Lowton pass.
But Bamford, who got his first call-up to the England squad this week, blocked Jamie Shackleton’s pass to equalize in the 86th minute.
