Tuchel: We Made It Look Easy

LONDON: Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel praised his side who bounced back from a difficult week by thrashing Southampton 6-0 in Premier League action.

Timo Werner’s three tries hit the post but he still scored twice for Chelsea who returned to victory after being thrashed 4-1 by Brentford and 3-1 at the hands of Real Madrid in the first quarter-final of the Champions League.

Mason Mount also scored two goals, with Marcos Alonso and Kai Havertz each contributing one goal.

Chelsea were 4-0 ahead after 30 minutes of play and scored two more goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half at St Mary’s Stadium.

“It’s a very good performance and a win that deserves to be achieved. It’s a tough stadium but we made it look easy.

“We were so focused when attacking so it was a very good performance and an excellent result. Immediately we looked like we were back in focus and were able to change the situation.

“We were diligent when grabbing the ball and were always dangerous. We created a lot of chances to make the match ours early,” Tuchel said.

However, Tuchel still feels the task of erasing the deficit in the hands of 13 -time European champions Real Madrid on Tuesday is not as easy as the action in Southampton.

“First of all it is important for us to complete the task here. The next task is very difficult and it will not change. We are doing what we are supposed to and it is good news,” he said.
