BARCELONA: Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Xavi to replace Ronald Koeman after the Dutchman was sacked yesterday.

Koeman was sacked after just a year in charge of Barca – following a 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano that put the club in ninth place in La Liga.

Club legend Xavi is said to want to say goodbye to Qatari club Al Sadd in a good way and is expected to return to Barcelona on November 4 as well as be introduced that day or the next day.

Barca have announced Sergi Barjuan, the club’s B team coach, will be the temporary operator of the main squad and will be introduced to the team before a training session at Ciutat Esportiva.

Xavi has a release clause that Barcelona have to pay, although there is a possibility the two clubs reach an agreement for a free transfer.

Xavi plans to say goodbye to Al Sadd in the final home game against Al Ahli this Saturday.

Xavi joined Al Sadd as a player in 2015 after leaving Barca and being the club’s manager for two years.
